Who is eligible for these scholarships?

Any Alaskan resident pursuing post-secondary education in a construction-related field at a school either in or outside of the state, with the intent to live and work in Alaska after completing their program.

How many scholarships are awarded?

7 total scholarships are awarded:
2 at $5,000
5 at $2,500

When are applications due?

Applications are due to the Anchorage AGC office by 4:00 pm on April 1st, 2016.

$100 Million Announced for TechHire Partnership Grants

fundingAnnounced on Nov. 17 by the Department of Labor, the TechHire Partnership Grants funding opportunity offers significant new money and approaches to education and training partnerships to train more adults for the IT industry, with an emphasis on young adults between the ages of 17 and 29 and those with barriers to employment. Office of Career and Technical Education (OCTAE) stakeholders working with these populations are encouraged to learn more. RFP RELEASE: Perkins Postsecondary Implementation Grant

The RFP for the Perkins Postsecondary Implementation Grant has been released.  This is a competitive grant for postsecondary credit offering institutions only.

You may download the RFP directly from the EED Forms & Grants webpage at: https://education.alaska.gov/forms/CTE/05-16-031.pdf.  Submissions are due to EED via ctegrants@alaska.gov by 4pm on April 22nd.

Please note that while EED had hoped to facilitate budgets via the GMS system, it didn’t work out due to high costs.  Therefore, you will need to submit budgets via Form 05-13-052 available here: https://education.alaska.gov/forms/CTE/05-13-052.xlsx

Vocational Fund for Alaska’s Future – Grant Opportunity

Deadline for Applications: 5:00 PM, November 9, 2015
​Request Amount: Between $10,000 and $50,000

The Vocational Fund for Alaska’s Future (VFAF) grant program seeks applications from eligible organizations for projects that sharpen vocational skills and contribute to the competitiveness of Alaska’s natural resource and overall economy. Proposed projects should be focused on building skills of relevance to natural resource development industries such as oil & gas and mining. Projects that build and refine skills that are cross-cutting across a variety of industries and sectors will be especially competitive. 

Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) nonprofit or equivalent organizations located in the state of Alaska. Equivalent organizations may include tribes, schools, churches, local government agencies and programs.
