Veterans searching for a career in the civilian world can run into difficulties transitioning. A job fair scheduled to take place at the University Center Mall is intended to get veterans “job ready.”
According to event organizer and Army veteran Delma Chapa, job ready means getting out of the military world and into the civilian one. Services available at the job fair include resume assistance, mock job interviews and even identifying skills that will translate into the civilian sector.
About 130 employers looking to hire veterans will be at the job fair, says Chapa. Some of the employers there will be GCI, KTVA’s parent company, the South Central Foundation, Providence Hospital and First National Bank.
The job fair begins at 10 a.m. on Nov. 18 at the University Center Mall.
