It’s a career that may require little to no experience and might pay more than you’d expect. Auto body technicians can earn about $25,000 to start and up to $120,000 for seasoned journeymen, according to Alaska Process Industry Career Consortium.
Wednesday, Ryan Cropper, owner of Able Body Shop, joined Daybreak to talk about the industry. He said he’s looking to hire and you don’t need experience.
“Probably 75 percent of people we hire don’t have any auto body experience,” Cropper said. “We look more for passion, enthusiasm, someone that really wants to work and be a part of something bigger than just going to work and punching a time clock.”
